Průmyslovesta Brno / ROUČKA-SLATINA is a traditional manufacturer of boilers in the Czech Republic, and over the years created products under the various brands SIGMA-SLATINA Brno (before the Bolsheviks), ROUČKA-SLATINA Brno, PRUMYSLOVESTA a.s. and PV ROUČKA kotle s.r.o

Honorable Mr. Erich Ruchka founded his company during the First Republic and very successfully expanded his business in the field of boiler production.

Erich Ruchka, an outstanding technician and inventor, was born on October 30, 1888 in Velka Mezizych. He was the fifth of six children of the builder Vaclav Ruchka.

From a young age, he was interested in technical models and physical experiments. At the age of ten, he made a simple ammeter, at fourteen - a model of a furnace for melting brass, at seventeen - a battery, an electric motor and a switchboard with measuring devices.

In 1911, he founded the first factory of electrical measuring devices in Blansko in Central Europe.

In 1919, he went to the United States, where he met Thomas Alva Edison to consult about his ideas. After returning to Blansko in 1921, he started the production of automatic regulators for steam boilers, which he named E.R.Robot with the permission of K Čapek.

In 1929, he founded a factory for the production of boilers and an associated foundry in Brno Slatin.

In 1932, the production of gray iron castings, necessary for the production of boilers, began

In 1938, an arc furnace for the production of cast steel was put into operation in the foundry, and the construction of a new foundry also began.

During the Second World War (1939-1945), the foundry was heavily damaged by bombing at the end of hostilities. His plans for further development of the factory ended with nationalization in 1948.

Ruchka had about 850 recognized patents, mainly in the field of technology, as well as in medicine. Already in 1937, he published a book in which he presented the theory of the origin of cancer due to improper nutrition. In addition, he constructed a functional model of the heart and blood circulation, for which he received a patent in 1950. He also tried to create a lie detector and at the age of 90 designed a device for measuring geopathogenic zones.

For his work, he received an engineering degree, although he did not graduate from any university. He received a number of medals, awards and recognitions, and in many cases was ahead of his time.

In 1948, after nationalization, the facilities were included in the Vitkovytsky Metallurgical Plant

In 1955, the construction of new foundries, laboratories and auxiliary operations began, and in 1965 the company was incorporated into the SIGMA OLOMOUC concern as its metallurgical base.

Roucka Slatina Energo s.r.o. continues the centuries-old traditions of power equipment production, inspired by the ideas of Rouchka and his followers.
